So much can be said about this ancient Mayan port, it's truly unforgivable if you take the time to visit. Follow the traces of history through the archeological ruins and experience where mysticism and mystery collide. Besides the incredible view of the Caribbean Sea, which is simply spectacular, one can not help but cool off at the beach located right next to the ruins. Akumal

Its name in Mayan means "land of turtles" since they are the main attraction of this place. Here you'll find several snorkeling tours where you can see this beloved creatures up close, and enjoy its amazing beach on those sunny days. You can also visit the center of Akumal with its narrow streets and small restaurants full of places to rent bicycles so you can explore this small town. Of course the main square is full of small shops where you can't forget to buy bracelets, a picture frame or graphic T-shirt.
